According to Chanel, the gown was entirely hand-embroidered by Maison Lesage using the needle and “Lunéville” technique, an intricate process that’s “executed on the underside of the fabric on an embroidery frame, with one hand holding the hook and the other beneath the frame moving the elements forward.” It took 600 hours to finish the embroidery alone
